Lawrence Mann founded Top Achievers in 1996. He has been Chairman of the Board since 1998.
The driving reason Top Achievers is important to Mr. Mann has always been the same: “Give kids a chance!”
Mr. Mann was selected to participate in Leadership Plano Class 36, where he had an opportunity to explore the inner workings of Plano’s government, educational system, business community, criminal justice system, and nonprofit sector.
In February 2013, he was featured in a Dallas Morning News cover story.
Mr. Mann and his wife Anna have been married for 31 years and have three sons, Lawrence II, Anteus, and Malcolm Mann. They are also the proud grandparents of Lawrence II, Genoveva Mann, and Anteus Mann II.
Born in Detroit, Lawrence Darnell Mann is the second of seven children. He attended Wayne State University and transferred to Southern Methodist University with his brother Terrance Mann, former NFL Miami Dolphin and SMU’s defensive lineman.
Mr. Mann is an active leader in his church and the Plano community.
